If you are traveling from the US, most likely you will get an "e-ticket" which we send you via email. It is IMPORTANT that you print out this e-ticket we send you. Air Pacific Airlines requires you to present this upon check-in.
If you are traveling to another island while in Fiji, the flight details for this portion of your trip will also be sent via this e-ticket. If you don't print the ticket out and bring it with you, the inter island airlines will not let you board the flight. There are 330 islands in Fiji's archipelago - about 100 are inhabited. So there's quite a range of choices?
There is no "best" island - it's all paradise! The island "groups" are diverse, and it depends on what kind of tropical experience you're looking for. Here are some of the main regions: The Mamanuca and Yasawa island chain is on the drier side of Fiji. Here you'll find the white sand beaches and lower, flatter islands with palm-lined coastlines, blue lagoons, and excellent snorkeling. Resorts are numerous, from budget/backpacker hideaways to 5 star luxury retreats. Lots of watersports activities, perfect for those seeking fun, sun and a romantic, tropical island atmosphere. The Northern Islands (Savusavu, Taveuni, Qamea, Matangi) are full of crashing waterfalls, 100 ft high coconut palms, pristine harbours, bays, thick rainforests, unique birds and blooms. This is an excellent region for diving and adventure, as well as gamefishing, romance and rejuvenation. Resorts are mid range to luxury, each with unique personalities, and many with gorgeous spas and most pristine surroundings. The Main Island (Viti Levu) is home to the international airport and capital city. It has many sides, from the drier west, to the Coral Coast, where lovely resorts dot the shoreline. It's a great island for guests looking for full amenities and lots of options for activities, restaurants and adventure excursions. You can have your choice of resorts - from backpacker dorm rooms to full 5* hotels on the beach. You can do it all - diving, snorkeling, sunset cruises, island hops, award winning surfing, fishing, kayaking, white water rafting, caving, trekking, biking, city tours and more. Kadavu Island is remote and rugged. There are no roads leading around Kadavu, so all transport is via boat. Here you'll find the Great Astrolabe Reef, one of the largest reef structures in the world. Here the diving and snorkeling is pristine, and adventure activities abound. Resorts tend to be "eco" retreats, perfect for those seeking authentic, traditional cultural experiences, diving, snorkeling, surfing, award winning gamefishing, waterfall treks, kayaking expeditions and more. Beqa Island is the land of the firewalkers and firehealers. A small island off the southern coast of Viti Levu, Beqa is renowned for its lagoon - a soft coral wonder - and diving is exceptional. Beqa Island was listed as "one of the 1000 places to see before you die" - and the rich lagoon and verdant island makes this a wonderful getaway for divers, surfers or romantics. The resort is a deluxe resort with fantastic views and a good level of service and amenities. If you are traveling from the US, Australia, New Zealand, most of Europe, India and many other countries, you will not need a Visa to travel to Fiji. Visa's are granted once you arrive at the airport. Please check with us for final confirmation.
Absolutely! We accept five different major credit cards for your convenience, and to help you accumulate air miles. We gladly accept Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover and Diners Club cards.
No way! We don't believe in the old "bait and switch" theory. With us, what you see is what you get. Your accommodations, meals (as indicated), day tours, ground transport in Fiji, room tax and tips are included. You don't need to pay for anything extra once you get here, except your souvenirs and any beverages or meals that are not included in our tour package. We're able to offer competitive rates for international U.S. air transport as well.
English is the first and offical language in the islands. In addition, Fijian (a variety of dialects) and Hindustani languages are widely spoken.
Fiji is blessed with a temperate, tropical climate, without much change in temperature between seasons. Any time is Fiji time! Being in the southern hemisphere, the winter and summer months are exactly opposite the northern hemisphere seasons. The drier, cooler winter months (May to November) typically have temperatures that range from 68 to 79 degrees F. Our warmer, wetter summer months (December through April) usually range in temperature from 73 to 86 degrees F.
There are several ways you can protect yourself, and we recommend and encourage that you do. The first way is to purchase trip insurance. We can recommend reputable companies who offer insurance against trip cancellations, delays, lost luggage, etc.
Use your credit card. We offer this service to further protect your investment with us. We are a registered California Seller of Travel (CST#2072432-40) licensed and registered with the State of California, fully bonded and insured. Check out our references. We will be happy to provide you with contacts of both professional references and previous happy travellers who have enjoyed our Fiji Adventures. The only skill you need to bring is your spirit of adventure! Our tours require some walking, sitting on mats, crawling several feet in a cave, and standing for periods of time. But they are by no means difficult, and most are classified as "soft adventure." Our river kayaking trip, for instance, can be as challenging as you like: you can man your own kayak and take on the class II, III or IV rapids, or you can let our guides paddle you on an inflatable raft while you sit back and enjoy the ride. If you choose a mountain bike tour, you can expect a challenging ride into the interior regions of Fiji along the dirt roads and trails leading you through the villages or along the sea. All information will be supplied to you on any prerequisites or requirements that apply to any of the activities.
No. We have hosted guests in their 60's, 70's and 80's, as well as 10-year-old children, all of whom have enjoyed their stay with us. We only ask that our guests be healthy, and be advised that our treks are not handicap accessible. For families wanting to participate in our excursions, many of our resorts offer "Kids Clubs" and even nanny service for infants.
Absolutely! Water is safe to drink in all major resorts and restaurants in cities and towns. If you are visiting an interior village during your stay, we will provide you with bottled water during your activity.
Fiji is perhaps the safest vacation destination available. The Fijian people are warm, friendly, and inviting. They love nothing more than sharing their "stories" and lifestyle with guests from around the world. This is why Conde Nast publication named them the "Friendliest People in the World." And it shows! Our own young children live in Fiji with us, and frequently ride the public bus into "the city" - alone - and are not only safe, but are treasured and looked after by everyone around them. It is a wonderful environment!
Non-stop flights leave LAX via Air Pacific, Air New Zealand, United, Qantas and American Airlines. The flight schedules change periodically so please contact us for a detailed update on actual flight schedules.
Fiji Adventures has very close working relationships the airlines in the U.S. Through these relationships and contracts, we can quickly work up a complete package for you that will include international airfare from LAX, and the land package to the islands. We also can aid you in arranging extensions to your Fiji Adventures tour should you decide to extend your visit to Australia, New Zealand or elsewhere in the South Pacific. Unfortunately, we only have contracts for US cities departures, and cannot book air for departures outside of the U.S.
You may have several different guides and leaders during your excursion. Local guides provide you with lively commentary and flavor of the area, as they all grew up and lived here most of their lives. All have an enthusiasm, knowledge and love of Fiji that shines and is simply contagious!
We offer a wide range of accommodations, from quiet, lovely bures (cottages) right on the beach, to stylish and up-scale 5-Star luxury resorts. Our resorts may be nestled on a coconut plantation, surrounded by tropical gardens, high on the hilltop or snuggled up against the coastline of one of our beautiful islands.
When you call us from the U.S. you will use our convenient toll free number - 888-418-4461. From other parts of the world, you can call our U.S. or our Fiji office numbers. Any staff in our offices should be able to answer most of your questions regarding our tours. Management is accessible via toll free or Fiji phone number, and are most knowledgeable. But all our staff members are dedicated to helping you in every way they can and all have first-hand knowledge of travel in our islands.
Our tours created for large or small groups, singles, couples, or families. We have specific group departures (check our group tours section), but most of our tours and packages are booked by individuals or small groups.
Our packages and itineraries are suggestions for you. Since many people have never been to Fiji, and don't know what there is to see and do, we offer pre-arranged packages to make it easier. We do a great many custom tours - at the same price as our package prices. You can add, subtract, and substitute, or ask us for suggestions based on your interests.
